PRINTS-BANNER- AVENTURINE copy.jpg

why buy an exclusive Limited Edition fine art Landscape print?

While the internet, in whatever form it currently comes, is fine for “scoping” pretty pictures on some kind of device, until an image is printed so that you can see all of the nuances and detail, you will always be looking at a second-rate image - that is until somebody finds a way to project an image direct to your optic nerve so that you feel like you're actually there, which probably isn’t that far off!!  So, for now, if you want quality, a professionally produced high-res print will have to do.

Of course printing an image is how an artist expresses the joy of their art and there is little point in all that comes before if it is done badly. So, all the way from printing to packaging, my work is handled with the utmost professionalism and you will instantly notice the detail and precision that goes into producing it and, I hope, gain at least a little of the pleasure from looking at my images that I get from making them. To that end my images are printed from high-resolution files captured with a Canon Eos 5Ds 50 megapixel camera with a few older images coming from an Eos 1Ds mark 3, both utilising Canon pro EF lenses.

Many factors have to be taken into consideration when deciding on the final output size of a print but my equipment means that most of my images can print big, usually up to 40 inches (101.6cm) on the short side, though some will go bigger.. The print sizes displayed on the shop page drop down menu are my standard sizes but if you’re looking for a specific size feel free to ask, some images will print comfortably at 60 inches on the short side

What media do i use?

Below are my “go-to” media and you can find details of the preferred media that I use for an image by clicking on the thumbnail on the image’s shop page, but the media types are not exhaustive. If you see a print that you like and have a favourite surface to print on – for instance I don’t as a default provide metal prints – feel free to get in touch.  Likewise, sizes are not final and can be adjusted, even enlarged beyond the standard size in some cases. Additionally, canvas prints can be provided rolled at a little more than paper print cost for ease of posting. Whatever your requirements feel free to get in touch and I will endeavour to meet your needs.

Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Pearl (Satin)

This beautiful paper from one of the oldest paper manufacturers on the planet is my paper of choice for all my colour and Black and White photography and I would always advise choosing this paper for my “none-Impressionist” work.

Not to be confused with Photo Pearl which is a much glossier resin coated paper, this pH neutral paper is a combination of a premium 100% cotton with the latest microporous coating, making it a traditional darkroom paper made for digital printing.

Photo Rag® Pearl is natural white with a subtle only slightly reflective pearl-finish and being made free of optical brightening agents, which can fade over time, meets the highest archival standards; lasting for over 200 years under UV protective glass or acrylic before showing any sign of fading.

This paper has extremely high colour density, colour range and graduation with deep blacks and exceptional grey tones that make it the product of choice for the more discerning black and white as well as colour photographic prints.

HAHNEMÜHLE PHOTO RAG ULTRA SMOOTH (MATTE)

Hahnemühle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth is an especially smooth and silky soft paper intended for high-quality Fine Art inkjet printing. This cotton art paper has a discreet, very finely textured surface with a strikingly silky feel and a matte premium inkjet coating that guarantees extraordinary print results with impressive reproduction of colour, detail and very deep black for a matte paper. Acid and lignin-free, this paper also meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance.

Hahnemühle German Etching Paper (Textured)

Hahnemühle German Etching is a traditional mould-made copperplate printing paper with an inkjet coating designed especially for Fine Art applications. The paper is made from 100% alpha cellulose and is characterised by its extraordinary velvety tactile feel and its fine, clearly defined structure (seen left) which is not unlike canvas in appearance and which I use only for my Impressionist work.

The unique surface texture of this paper adds a very special touch to images, showcasing them in all their splendour with impressive three-dimensional effect and depth. With excellent reproduction of colour and detail, deep blacks and optimum contrast German Etching is acid and lignin free and so meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance.

ACRYLIC GALLERY FACE MOUNTING

Handcrafted by an expert team and face-mounted edge-to-edge on laser cut, diamond polished acrylic, these crystal clear, ultra-high clarity prints are a perfect choice for modern homes or workspaces and make a fantastic alternative to traditionally framed print.

Once printed the print is face-mounted to 4mm gloss acrylic before being backed with exceptionally durable 3mm Foamex for added protection and rigidity. An aluminium sub-frame is then attached with hanging devices and stand offs to provide a sleek modern, floating off-the-wall look that comes ready to hang.

In lieu of a signature and numbering of these limited editions a signed, numbered and stamped label is provided to be attached to the back of the print.

CANVAS WRAP

Produced in the UK. these beautiful Giclee HD Cotton canvas prints are hand stretched and wrapped around FSC approved sustainable wooden stretcher bars with tension pegs provided in each corner to prevent sagging.

Once printed, the canvas is sealed with a specialist Giclee varnish which makes the canvas splash-proof, eliminates the cracking of the ink down the edge of the canvas and provides additional UV fade protection on canvas that already has the highest archival rating currently available and comfortably meets the standard for gallery and museum display.

Once wrapped the work is backed with framer’s tape and protective felt disks to stop the canvas from rubbing on paintwork and with the addition of brass hanging hardware comes ready to hang.

As standard the edges of my canvas wraps are black but if you would like the print to be mirrored on the edge – none of the image will be lost – let me know at the time of purchase.

Like Acrylic prints a signed, numbered and stamped label is provided to be attached to the back of the print.

This process may add a few days to the delivery time though it still shouldn’t impact on the 21 day maximum.
